Jim,
Lest I fall into the trap of becoming obsessed with this blog---I give up. True Love cannot be found in any book--The Bible, DP, or The Urantia Book. As long as the conversation stays on an intellectual level, love can never grow. It just becomes a war of words. Love, is felt in the heart. the heart grows through human experiences; through service; through prayer, meditation, and group worship. The barriers to heart growth are pride, prejudice, and intolerance. God is Unity. And God will only come, based on that unity. "Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom". Jesus was a man of love as Father is a man of love. And yet, Jesus made statements such as; "you seek and seek to find disciples--yet when you find them, you make them twice as much a child of hell as yourselves". Clearly, Jesus was frustrated with the narrow-minded, tradition-bound, dogma-based, supposed religious leaders of the "chosen" peoples. Jesus did not hesitate to speak up---and for that---he was considered a "spammer". They even went so far as to seek his destruction.
I have found that, though I must fight the good fight of love and abiding in Christ---I must not become spiritually exhausted. So, I need to go back to my regimen of much prayer, and meditation. Jim, I hope that our little venture together will result in you too, going inward---spending time with yourself and your inner divine spirit. I'm certain, that if you do a 40 day condition of getting in touch with yourself in quiet contemplation, with an open mind---giving it all up to God every moment of every day---a door may open for you to discover more of the mysteries of the life that God created for us.
So long for now Brother.
Jim Spencer
