Sharing God's New Covenant with the World Since 1975
Jim,
Did you ever have an original thought of your own? You are like a walking "Father's Speech" book, a living "quoter of passages". Where is the original personality of Jim Rigney that God created? Do you communicate with everyone around you this way----or do you have an actual life? So many times, I have seen the followers of different religions--with the stars in their eyes. Whether I ran into The Children of God, Transcendental Meditators, Hari Khrishnas, Baptists, Rajneesh, and the followers of that little fat guy that drove around in his Rolls-----while I was out on the street witnessing for Father----each one of them was adamantly convinced that "they" were the chosen people---"they" had THE truth.
Problem was, each one of those religions had human beings in them. All of those followers would absolutely deny that their leader could ever sin. All of those members had blinders on, and couldn't see the humaness of their religious leaders----or-----they refused to see it. They got stuck on the dogma---just as the followers of Mohamed or Confuscious or Budda did. But, they started religions that endure to today.
Jim---would you say that the leaders of any of these religions were the same as Jesus Christ?
So---by your theory----a person should not question their spiritual leadership? Is that why God gave each of us our own brain and our own heart?
You are at the place where you have found truth that you made your own. That may be good for you and you want to share it. The same has to be true for all other people. Dis-unity comes when people close their minds to other spiritual peoples points of view. You don't like it when a Baptist calls you Satan-------------so don't apply the same principle to them.
Learn to appreciate other peoples understanding of God, while keeping your own personal faith. Stop being afraid that just because other people see life a different way than you---does not mean they are evil or off track. Our God is a big God.
The highest truth is the realization of The Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man. Get that right, learn to love and serve others---and your heart will grow. When love saturates your life----evil can never have a place to live.
"Religion has always been largely a matter of rites, rituals, observances, ceremonies, and dogmas. It has usually become tainted with that persistently mischief-making error, the chosen-people delusion. The cardinal religious ideas of incantation, inspiration, revelation, propitiation, repentance, atonement, intercession, sacrifice, prayer, confession, worship, survival after death, sacrament, ritual, ransom, salvation, redemption, covenant, uncleanness, purification, prophecy, original sin — they all go back to the early times of primordial ghost fear."
