Please consider giving your support to our brother Kevin Winter. He is 63 years old and has been a missionary in the Ivory Coast since 1975. He is married to a French sister, Evelyne, and they have three children. Two of their children are in the US Air Force and the third is in a 40 day Cheong Pyeong workshop.
He has an abscess on the brain that developed when he got a bad cough in West Africa. Even though he was sick, he went to Ndjamena Chad to teach a workshop to all the members there and that's when his situation became critical. He traveled to Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire to check on his situation and arriving in Abidjan he started convulsing and couldn't talk, walk, or think clearly. He was rushed to the hospital by ambulance and through massive doses of antibiotics and corticoid (steroid-anti inflammatory) medicines, his thinking and mobility is gradually improving.
However, through the tests the doctors found that the problem is an abscess on his brain. To remove it and reduce the pressure on his brain, he needs to be evacuated to France or to the United States with a doctor at his side and he has to pay cash for his operation. On the 25th of July, Kevin needs to make a $5,000 down payment in order to receive the surgery, and can pay the rest when he leaves about a week later.
