What a great video - My daughter's best friend will be visiting Kenya on a non-church related work studies trip. I wish my daughter could walk the dusty, muddy trails I did, even for a couple of weeks.
The video reminded me of an experience in Niger, when I was in a village drawing water from the well. People came from all the huts, chattering and laughing at the site. It was the first time they had seen a white person actually doing any work.

It was a life altering, priceless experience for her. Helped her get oriented to the world we live in. When you're from a developed country, there's no way to reference what life is like in the 3rd World. Very eye-opening. I had the same experience, although my trip lasted 11 years. Wish we could send ALL our 2nd gen on a tour of Africa. The Mormons send their boys out for 2 years. That experience builds character AND they develop networks of contacts that are very valuable later in life. We could consider something similar.
