Dear all,
The German edition of my autobiography was published by Kando Publishing House in 2024.
Now the English edition is also available - directly from me.
In this exciting book, Wolfgang Schawaller describes his experiences as a missionary abroad, travelling first to Hong Kong in 1975 at the age of 24, and then to many other countries over the course of 21 missionary years; although not able to avoid occasional emotional highs an lows, he was always faithfully true to his calling by God and True Parents. Influenced by the hardships of his own childhood as a German in post-war Frankfurt, treating people of all backgrounds with respect is a matter close to his heart.
On his travels, which took him around the world as a ‘globetrotter for Christ’, he encountered foreign cultures and religions and learned to love mankind as his brothers and sisters, regardless of their skin colour or social status.
In Thailand, despite the language barrier, his perseverance enabled him to gain the trust of the person who was to become the future national leader of our movement there; In India, despite being challenged by the poverty and an illness he acquired there, he taught the vision of ‘Divine Principle’ together with other missionaries; in Afghanistan, left to his own devices, he experienced heavenly protection during the local war that raged there at that time; in Yemen, he was challenged to interact with that unique, archaic local culture; in Greece he organised seminars on the dangers of communism and met famous international people as a press photographer; and finally, after the fall of the Iron Curtain, he and his wife accepted the challenge of moving to Russia with their whole family.
Wolfgang's occasional encounters with True Parents strengthened his faith and love for them. After his family settled down in Vienna, he once again became a pioneer: with his ‘cyber mission’, he continued to bear witness on social media and gradually gained far-reaching influence. His passion to proclaim the hope, that True Parents are bringing to the world, continues to drive him on with undiminished enthusiasm, today at the age of almost 75.
