Dear all,

The German edition of my autobiography was published by Kando Publishing House in 2024.

Now the English edition is also available - directly from me.

In this exciting book, Wolfgang Schawaller describes his experiences as a missionary abroad, travelling first to Hong Kong in 1975 at the age of 24, and then to many other countries over the course of 21 missionary years; although not able to avoid occasional emotional highs an lows, he was always faithfully true to his calling by God and True Parents. Influenced by the hardships of his own childhood as a German in post-war Frankfurt, treating people of all backgrounds with respect is a matter close to his heart.

On his travels, which took him around the world as a ‘globetrotter for Christ’, he encountered foreign cultures and religions and learned to love mankind as his brothers and sisters, regardless of their skin colour or social status.

In Thailand, despite the language barrier, his perseverance enabled him to gain the trust of the person who was to become the future national leader of our movement there; In India, despite being challenged by the poverty and an illness he acquired there, he taught the vision of ‘Divine Principle’ together with other missionaries; in Afghanistan, left to his own devices, he experienced heavenly protection during the local war that raged there at that time; in Yemen, he was challenged to interact with that unique, archaic local culture; in Greece he organised seminars on the dangers of communism and met famous international people as a press photographer; and finally, after the fall of the Iron Curtain, he and his wife accepted the challenge of moving to Russia with their whole family.

Wolfgang's occasional encounters with True Parents strengthened his faith and love for them. After his family settled down in Vienna, he once again became a pioneer: with his ‘cyber mission’, he continued to bear witness on social media and gradually gained far-reaching influence. His passion to proclaim the hope, that True Parents are bringing to the world, continues to drive him on with undiminished enthusiasm, today at the age of almost 75.

Dawn of a New Era
Young Unificationists Respond to God’s Call

English, 590 pages
hard cover
ISBN: 978-3-922947-74-5

This book contains the recollections of 31 young members of the Unification Movement, who, in 1975, volunteered to go to foreign countries as pioneers of their faith.

From the preface:
The missionaries describe their experiences in a frank and a personal way. They do not gloss over anything in order to show how God helped them and how they could be His instruments in an uncertain situation and an unknown world. Their own growth parallels the development of their mission, stirs the reader’s heart and fosters the understanding of a living, loving God.

During their youth many had not been to another country nor been exposed to other cultures or languages. Every single testimony bears witness to how our missionaries found themselves in situations that they could not have mastered without God’s guidance.

Despite many obstacles, they had to find a way to fulfil their mission. And they wanted to fulfil it – they persevered and developed an amazing creativity in the process.

Thus, the testimonies of our missionaries show the complexity between the human weakness and the power of our Heavenly Parent. They bear witness to a historic endeavour that laid the worldwide foundation for the development and dissemination of God’s message for our time to establish a peaceful world.

“These stories are not solely our own, but those of our mission countries and their first Unificationist members. For the benefit of our worldwide membership and the general public, we saw the need to present our testimonies in the English language. We formed a small working team and revised each story with the author. It is our deep-felt desire to let readers from different backgrounds ‘walk in our footsteps’ and ‘see through our eyes’ the world we experienced many years ago, as we struggled to share God’s Heart of love for His children. Consequently, the testimonies articulate our experiences in an individual way – as each of us is unique and walked a unique path. The result is the book you are holding in your hands.”

Hello Wolfgang, how is it going . . . Last month we met Anton Scherble in Las Vegas as we jumped on a bus to go to True Father's event. He did not give us his e-mail, saying that he would write us. He lives in Denver. Also I was going to ask you about Werner Elias as I saw him appear on some of the photos being featured here. Are they still in Africa somewhere?
We moved to California about 5 years ago, doing all right.
When are you going to start writing your memoirs, or you started already?
Blessings for now . . .
