Saturday morning, Sep. 20th, 2014 we held the Seong Hwa Ceremony of our wonderful brother Werner Anton Elias in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire: a 40-year Africa missionary originally assigned to Niger Republic,after being kicked out of Niger he came to work in the Ivory Coast with a lot of us missionaries and after being matched in London in 1978, he was sent back to Africa to Ghana for two years and then to Senegal for 3 years. Our heart goes out to Werner's family, Lorette and his sons and daughters.
Werner was with a team in Regensburg, early 1974, when I first met him. I had just joined the movement and Regensburg was my first assignment. He was a wise, considerate and harmony-seeking "older brother"!
Is there anything more we can know about his missionary life in Africa? Are there any recent pictures? And is there a way we can send a personal message to his family…

Dear Kathy, Thank you for writing about Werner Elias and his family. He was on the witnessing team that stayed in Nurnberg, Germany where I joined. I remember him as always caring, always encouraging. With prayers and best wishes for his family. - Friederike

thank you so much informing us about Werner Elias passing to Spir. W.. Just a few days ago I was thinking about him and wonder were he is now. I only meet him in New York (I think it was on TF 60th Birthday) once, but I remember him so well, he has such a deep heart.
